This is really the only way the idea works. The joke is that the cat is a doctor. The punchline can’t be based around what the comic is about, or else the comic won’t work. As you can see by this being the only comic thats funny.
Funny one-off comic, though. Would be better as a part of a series that was just dedicated to jokes as opposed to jokes involving a cat thats a doctor. Theres only so much you can do.
I know there’s only so much I can do, but people like it. It’s cute. I make comics about other things, too. They are usually funnier than these…but there isn’t a website for them yet. I’m workin’ on it.

Your style is quirky and fun, and while part 1 is funny in isolation, parts 2, 3 and 4 are funny as a story which is where you said you were going with it anyway. The strip doesn’t suit one person’s humor, and that’s fine, but that person isn’t an authority on its appeal or potential. Maybe statements about what will and won’t work should be saved until there are more than four strips to judge. Looking forward to your other website and also more Doctor Cat :3
Well, I was planning on making a separate site for my other comics, so people can read Doctor Cat’s story without interruption…or read silly joke comics without having to look at cutesy cat comics. I’ll be sure to post a link here when my other site is up, though. :)

Would you mind sharing how you make your comics, and how you get that crisp clean look? Do you do it pencil, ink it, and scan it, then clean it up in photoshop? Whats your secret?
Please keep doing Doctor Cat! Is a great idea and a great personage! I like silly and ironic humor. I can ask you to play a bit with allusions to these great TV series about MDs (ER/House/Grey’s/etc…)? A bit of playing with the familiar background of Doctor Cat? Anecdotes from his career? Hey, no problem, I don’t mind. :)
That’s pretty much the process I use, I don’t think there’s a secret… I find that penciling in red or blue helps with cleaning it up though.
